The story goes that the “tennis” bracelet was named after an incident during a 1987 US Open match, where pro tennis player Christine Evert paused the match mid-play to look for her diamond bracelet. The bracelet – which she never took off – had fallen from her wrist when the clasp broke. It was so special to Christine that it was worth pausing a professional match for… And so the “tennis bracelet” was born..
